About LAA

Loft Artists Association began in 1978 as the vision of three artists living and working in the Yale & Towne factory building. Thirty years later the LAA is still going strong with 50 studio and associate members. In 2007 we moved out of Yale & Towne to make room for urban development. Our current space is just down the block at 845 Canal Street where 25 members have studios with the remaining 25 working out of their own spaces. Topping it all off is our very own gallery. We produce two “Open Studios” events and six gallery shows per year. Our members exhibit their work locally, nationally and internationally throughout the year.

Our Mission
To provide artists with a supportive environment, opportunities to exhibit their work, and networking opportunities and to reach out to the community at large with education and artistic expression.
